In 2024, the cake started appearing in stores as early as March 5. Last year, it was back by March 11. So when April rolled around with no lemon cake in sight, fans were not happy about it.
One shopper on Reddit shared that it was her birthday and she had been hoping to find the cake for a whole month. Others simply vented their frustration while waiting for any sign of its return.
A Trader Joe’s crew member chimed in on Reddit, saying the cakes would be back the week of April 20. Sure enough, that is exactly when shoppers started spotting them.
A Good Reason to Grab an Extra One
If you find it, you might want to think about picking up more than one. Fans say the Lemon Mini Sheet Cake freezes beautifully. And given how quickly it tends to sell out, having a backup in the freezer is never a bad idea.
